How to drive the fastest car in the world - at 1000mph

This is the view Wing Commander Andy Green will have when he aims to become the first person in history to hit 1,000mph on land. The adrenaline junkie will be sat behind the wheel of the incredible Bloodhound SSC - a one-of-a-kind beast with 180 times the power of a Formula One car. Andy, 51, will be aiming to beat his current record of 763mph which he achieved behind the wheel of Thrust SSC in 1997. Bristol-based Bloodhound released the first images of the state-of-the-art cockpit which will act as Green's supersonic office for the attempt.
