The majority of American sushi is nothing like traditional Japanese sushi, reports Business Insider. There are also differences in the way sushi is eaten in the U.S. versus Japan. For starters, don't drown your sushi in soy sauce. When eating nigiri sushi only the fish should be dipped, never the rice. Another faux pas in Japan is mixing wasabi into your soy sauce. It's also more traditional to eat nigiri sushi with your hands instead of chopsticks.
