Fast-moving floodwaters raged through the streets of Mandra, a suburb of Athens, Greece, on Tuesday, June 26, damaging roads, buildings and cars.The country’s civil protection agency said that by Wednesday, emergency services had received 160 calls for help, while 95 personnel and 40 vehicles had been deployed in rescue and recovery efforts. The fire service said on Tuesday that diving teams were also involved in the operations.General Secretary of Civil Protection Ioannis Kapakis, Mayor Ioanna Kriekoukou and other officials visited the town on Wednesday to assess the situation.The inundation came around seven months after floods reportedly killed at least 24 people in the area.
