Janice Wei was travelling in Juneau, Alaska, when she was lucky enough to witness a mother brown bear and her two cubs sharing a salmon feast in the river.Janice stayed at a safe distance to film the bears as they ate, watching the fascinating dynamic between the members of this ursine family unit. The two cubs gently tussled for ownership of the remaining fish, with the winner trying to sequester the fish for himself.Sightings of brown bears are not uncommon in the rivers of Alaska during the summer months. This Alaska hiking advice website states that the Alaska grizzly bear (brown bear) population is strong at about 40,000, with many of those animals congregating in rivers and streams when not in hibernation.
