Where Black Homeownership Is High

According to The Huffington Post, in the U.S. the white homeownership rate is 71 percent. And just 41 percent of black families are homeowners.
But there are some areas where black homeownership is the norm.
Those places include Olympia Fields, Illinois, which has a black homeownership rate of 98 percent.
Other Chicago suburbs like Flossmoor, Lynwood, Matteson and South Holland also have black homeownership rates of at least 80 percent.
