Today we’re focusing on the undoubted highlight of the UK outdoor scene – the Kendal Mountain Festival. This was held a couple of weeks back and as usual, completely took over the small Lake District town where it is hosted. In attendance were luminaries of the climbing world, including Ueli Steck and British trad climber James Pearson. We caught up with one of the festival’s film officers, Clare Carter, to find out how the programme for the event comes together. Premiering at the event was the new Hot Aches film, “Redemption”, charting James Pearson’s journey from talented but rash teenager to the more mature climber that we know today. To watch the full film, go to www.hotaches.com. Thanks to the guys at sidetracked for the footage from the event. If you’d like to see more of their work, go to www.sidetracked.com.
