A series of burnt-out trucks and tractor trailers littering a highway north of Redding, California, were testament to the speed with which a new fire in the area spread on September 5.The Redding Record Searchlight quoted a fire official as saying, “There’s vehicles scattered all over. Whatever occurred here was probably pretty ugly for a while.”The fire, dubbed the Delta Fire, had grown to 15,000 acres by the morning of September 6, the Record Searchlight said. The new fire is just a few miles from the long-burning Hirz Fire, and in an area ravaged by fire earlier in the season, when more than 1,000 homes were destroyed.Footage here was shared by Mike Daly, from Redding, and shows abandoned vehicles near La Moine.
