00:00It was the night before Christmas when all through the house not a creature was stirring,
00:29not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St.
00:35Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds while
00:40visions of sugarplums danced through their heads. And Mama in her kerchief and I in my
00:46cap had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap. When out in the woods there
00:52arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. And what to my
00:57wondering eyes did appear but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer. With a little
01:04old quick I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers
01:10they came and he whistled and then called them by name. Now Dasher, now Dancer, now
01:17Prancer and Vixen, on Comet, on Cupid, on Diamond Ritson, to the top of the porch, to
01:24the top of the wall, now dash away, dash away, whoa, they're all. And then in a twinkling
01:34I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoop. A bundle of toys he'd
01:41flung on his back and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
02:54And then I in my cap had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap. When out
04:24in the open I saw a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh
04:54a sleigh, a sleigh, a sleigh.
05:54A sleigh, a sleigh.
06:25Having finished his task he spoke not a word but shouldered his sack and rose like a bird
06:37to the top of the chimney and across to his sleigh. Then he stopped and he listened. It
06:44was now Christmas Day. He grasped both the reins to his team, gave a whistle and away
06:51they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of
06:59sight, Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night.
