CAL TJADER QUINTET - GUACHI GUARA (LIVE AT THE CLUB MACUMBA)

The Cal Tjader Quintet with a previously unreleased version of "Guachi Guara" later to be a big hit for him when re-recorded and retitled as "Soul Sauce".
You can hear quite a bit of rather risque interplay between the band and the audience and some of the photo's are from a Life Magazine photo shoot illustrating the then current "Mambo Craze".
The band is on top form and just purrs along. Sounds like a fun night, can't we get something like this now I wonder? It'd be kinda cool.
