The gates of Sabarimala temple will open once again today, weeks after Kerala witnessed violent scenes when the temple was opened briefly for Puja and women in the banned age group of 10 to 50 tried to enter the temple premises but were thwarted. Section 144 has been imposed in Sabarimala and other adjoining areas. The hill shrine will be open for 2 days. Prohibitory orders are in place from 3 Nov to 6 Nov midnight..to prevent violence this time around, the state police has deployed over 1500 police personnel in and around Sabarimala, in the aftermath of the October violence, over 3000 people were arrested and 543 cases were registered by police.
