Brexit Select Committee Chair Hilary Benn meets ministers

The Chair of the Brexit Select Committee Hilary Benn met with David Lidington and colleagues at the Cabinet Office on Thursday along with Labour Party colleague Yvette Cooper. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn had urged members to not engage with the government until a no-deal Brexit is off the table. However, following the Cabinet Office meeting, Mr Benn said he had made it very clear that the government has to rule out no-deal and that the Prime Minister needs to change her red lines. Earlier in the day Mr Corbyn had made the same demands of the government during a speech in Hastings. Report by Jonesia.
