This video is a tribute to Roscoe Conkling 'Fatty' Arbuckle one of the Greats of Hollywood Cinema, & attempts to set the record straight for those who like myself had dismissed him for a Crime that in reality he never committed.
Years ago I read a book (Hollywood Babylon) that insinuated that Arbuckle was probably guilty of Rape & murder. Based on that shallow piece of Misinformation I didn't really want to know anymore about a person portrayed as a probable evil rapist.

Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle was one of the most popular stars in Hollywood & also became one of the highest paid signing a contract in 1920 with paramount equivalent to US $14,000000 in today's money.
He mentored Charlie Chaplin & discovered Bob Hope & Buster Keaton all of who were good friends & spoke highly of him. Most people including his ex wives said he was probably one of the nicest people you could meet.
Buster Keaton signed an agreement to give Arbuckle 35% of his production companies future profits to secure Fatty's financial situation.
Fatty had to spend most of his money & had to sell his house defending himself in 3 trials brought about by the tragic accidental death of a girl at a party that he & some friends had put on.
People saw this as an opportunity to profit from Arbuckle & further their ambitions off Fatty's high profile.

Amazingly it took 3 trials to uncover the this & prove Arbuckle undoubtably innocent of any wrong doing.
The 3rd jury took only 6 minutes to find Arbuckle innocent & spent five of those writing an apology letter to Arbuckle for him having been put through the unwarranted ordeal. After reading it out in court the foreman handed the letter to Roscoe which became one of Arbuckles most treasured possessions.
Even so the film industry banned Fatty's movies & would not employ him due to the scandal.
Most of the newspapers were largely to blame printing scurrilous gossip & misinformation to sell newspapers & magazines.
If it was today Fatty would have been twice as rich as he originally was by suing the numerous liable allegations that were printed.
Fatty began to make some headway in restarting his career after about a decade.
After a night of celebrating his 1st wedding anniversary to his new wife & also signing a movie contract with Warner's Fatty died in his sleep that night (1933) aged 46.

Quite awhile ago I read a book called Hollywood Babylon which obviously like the papers of the time was more interested about sensationalising unfounded claims rather than facts.
It insinuated that Arbuckle had raped the girl with a Champagne bottle that had broken & led to her death due to internal injuries.
On the basis of this I had dismissed Fatty Arbuckle & didn't really want to know anything about him which was my loss.
