Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will be released shortly by Pakistan through the Wagah-Attari joint check-post. His release comes two days after he was captured across the Line of Control after shooting down a Pakistan Air Force F-16 jet. Mint Managing Editor Anil Padmanabhan believes that the return of Wing Commander Varthaman marks a new phase in India-Pakistan relations. “Terms of engagement in India-Pakistan relations have clearly changed,” he says.
