VK Singh joins sugarcane farmers' protest - NewsX

Former Army chief, Gen VK Singh has joined sugarcane farmers in their attempt to picket Parliament today. Sugarcane farmers, led by the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan are holding a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. The Sangathan says Rangarajan Report will adversely affect farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Gen VK Singh had earlier called for picketing Parliament if the government didn't reject the Rangarajan commission recommendations on sugar sector regulation. VK Singh will be present with the farmers throughout the day-long protest.
