The farmers' protest at the Shambhu border between Punjab and Haryana entered its 12th month on the occasion of Lohri. Sukhwinder Singh Sabhra, the State President of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee says, "The government is waging a war against us; we, on the other hand, are simply asking that if you accepted our demands earlier, why haven’t you kept your promise?” he questions. The participation by farmers at these protests is rotational and planned district-wise. Each district is assigned to stay at the border for at least fifteen days. While Sarwan Singh Pandher’s Kisan Mazdoor Morcha organises the setup at Shambhu, Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) is responsible for the protest at Khanauri.
Parminder Jeet Singh, Bhartiya Kisan Union, Moga says, "During the Green Revolution, the government gave us seeds and we worked day and night in the fields. Meanwhile , corporates started selling us agricultural machines. Look where they stand today. On the other hand, we, who worked hard and generated surplus produce for exports, acquired debts for generations by buying these machines. Buried under these debts, our fellow farmers are dying by suicide today."
Dharam Singh Sidhu, a member of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee and senior pradhan of Firozpur district, states that nearly 100 jatthebandis (unions) are a part of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha at Shambhu border and include farmers from both Punjab and Haryana. When asked about their charter of demands, he says that a law which guarantees the Minimum Support Price (MSP) is a must.
Even as the farmer suicides hit the morale of farmers at the protest sites, Dalbar Singh, Pradhan of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Pahu Wind, has full confidence that the farmers will continue this protest till victory is theirs.

00:00Today, on this day, we would like to tell Modi that
00:06no matter how much you want to do everything with the help of carports,
00:11we, 140 crore Indian people, will save our farmlands, our market, our rice sector at any cost.
00:31People from Peshawar are calling for the government to implement the movement that they had agreed to in the first place.
00:41There are about 200 organizations who started this movement for Delhi on 11th February and reached here on 13th February.
00:54From 13th February to 21st February, a lot of bombs and explosives were thrown from the government of Haryana.
01:06You have seen the nails and the walls that have been removed.
01:09There are a lot of them.
01:11About 467 people have been injured so far.
01:16More than 32 people have been martyred.
01:20Subkaran, who was martyred with a straight bullet, was martyred on 21st February in Khanori.
01:26The number of injured people is increasing.
01:32The number of martyred people is increasing.
01:36Eight to ten people have lost their eyes.
01:41Our demand was that on 19th November, 2021, Modi ji had accepted our demands.
01:48We had to take back all three farm laws.
01:53We had to make a law on MSP.
01:55According to Dr. Swaminathan's report, we had to pay C2 plus 50% interest.
02:02We had to take back 2,020 hectares of electricity.
02:07We had to take back the farm laws of Lakhimpur and Kheerikand.
02:15These were our main demands.
02:17We have been sitting here for about 12 months now.
02:21MSP has been made for the whole of India.
02:25There are at least 23 crops that affect people's daily lives.
02:32If there is MSP, there will be MRP.
02:35Both the selling and purchasing prices will be decided.
02:40And the WTO policies that are being applied by the USA should be abolished.
02:46All the political parties that have been involved,
02:50whether it is the Congress, Aam Aadmi or the BJP,
02:55or other parties, they have all signed them.
02:59The policies of the WTO are not good for India, because where the policies are in force, there are farms of 2,000-2,000 acres.
03:10And here, there is a development of two canals, and a development of half an acre.
03:15So, in such circumstances, the policies of the WTO cannot be implemented.
03:21That is why we started this movement, that the Indian government should think about this.
03:28And the farmers should be compensated as soon as possible.
03:33For example, the big industries have been compensated.
03:36Many corporates have been compensated.
03:39And lakhs of crores have been compensated.
03:41Then why not the farmers?
03:43This compensation is also there.
03:45In 2011, when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he himself gave a statement to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at that time,
03:55that Dr. Swaminathan's report should not be implemented, MSP should not be broken.
04:01And in 2014, when he came, he stopped working on it.
04:06He gave a counter-argument to the Supreme Court.
04:10He gave an affidavit that we cannot implement it.
04:14That is why we started this movement.
04:25When the country was drowning in the crisis of food, there was no food to eat.
04:32The government provided us with seeds in the name of green revolution.
04:37At that time, agriculture was done by hand, by bulls.
04:41Machinery was not an option.
04:44The government provided us with seeds in the name of green revolution.
04:51We sowed those seeds.
04:53The farmers took their entire family and worked day and night in the fields.
04:57The corporates started their work.
05:01They started selling machinery.
05:03He earned a lot of money from us by selling machinery.
05:07The corporates sold their machinery to us.
05:13We worked hard day and night.
05:17We increased the surplus of the country.
05:24We started supplying grains to other countries.
05:29The corporates loan was given to us.
05:34The farmers lost their jobs because of the loan.
05:42When the loan increases, the farmer becomes helpless.
05:47He does not think that he will be able to repay the loan.
05:51He does not think that he will be able to repay the loan.
05:53He does not think that he will be able to repay the loan.
05:55He commits suicide.
06:06The first protest was held in 2020.
06:09Three black laws were brought to the protest.
06:14They were brought back.
06:16The same laws were brought back indirectly.
06:19The same laws were brought back indirectly.
06:22Private players will come.
06:25They will do whatever they want.
06:28They will buy the land from the farmers.
06:36They will increase the rate for a year or two.
06:39After that, when their competitors are finished,
06:43they will do whatever they want.
06:45For example, in Himachal,
06:47they increased the rate for the farmers.
06:52After that, when their competitors are finished,
06:57they will sell the land at a lower rate.
07:01They will do the same.
07:02There were three forums.
07:04KMM, Sanjeevat Kisan Morcha, and Sanjeevat Kisan Morcha.
07:10All three had a good meeting.
07:15They are planning to hold the next meeting in a day or two.
07:18Everyone has full hope that this meeting will be a good decision.
07:23All the farmers will come together and fight this movement.
07:37We will continue to protest.
07:39We will not give up.
07:41We will continue to protest.
07:46We will not give up.
