Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan tenders resignation

Following withdrawal of support by the Nationalist Congress Party as its alliance with the Congress was snapped, chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Friday evening tendered his resignation from the chief minister of Maharashtra.
Outgoing chief minister Prithviraj Chavan had virtually no option but to submit his resignation has his government was reduced to minority after the withdrawal of support by the NCP, said an official.
