S. Korean gov't to examine thousands of candidates for recognition as independence fighters

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs promised to take another look at more than twenty-thousand unapproved applications to officially recognize them as independence fighters.
This year is the 100th anniversary of the March First Independence Movement against Japanese colonial rule, so the ministry said it'll be focusing more on finding and rewarding women and student freedom activists who've been overlooked in the past.
Also, to remember the last hundred years and forge ahead into the next hundred,... the ministry will work to expand medical and welfare services for not only patriots and veterans but also their families.
