A new documentary is revealing just how unique (and exhausting) Rickey Gates’s 1,300-mile quest to run “Every Single Street” in the city of San Francisco truly was.
The 17-minute film follows the ultrarunner as he explains the full backstory of the attempt, details his extensive preparation, and explores each alleyway and avenue the city had to offer. Viewers also meet the eclectic cast of city residents Gates encountered throughout his 46-day run, many of whom claim to be victims of gentrification plans.
He hopes others become inspired to undertake similar challenges in their communities.
“We all have this misconception that we ‘know’ where we live,” Gates said in a press release. “Even if it’s a small town, I assure you that there are places and things that you haven’t seen and didn’t know about the place you call home.”
