Pharrell Williams was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on April 5, 1973. In the 80s as a 7th grader, he met Chad Hugo in a summer camp where he played the keyboards and drums, whereas Chad played tenor saxophones. Together, alongside Shah Hayley and Mike Etheridge, they formed a 4-man 'R&B' group called 'The Neptunes' and entered a high-school talent show where they were discovered by Teddy Riley. 'The Neptunes' performed well, but it was in 1998 when they collaborated with N.O.R.E for 'Superthug' that marked their definite breakthrough in the music industry. In 2001, Britney Spears released her album 'Kaleidoscope' which was produced by 'The Neptunes', and the song 'I'm a Slave 4 You' helped them bag number uno on Billboard charts. Thanks to the album, everyone, from Nelly, Usher, Beyoncé and Timberlake, wanted to work and be produced by Pharell Williams and 'The Neptunes'. In 2004, Williams received 2 Grammy awards: Producer of the Year, Non-Classical and another Best Pop Vocal Album for his work on the album of Justin Timberlake Recently, Pharell Williams has produced worldwide hits such as 'Get Lucky', 'Blurred Lines' and 'Happy'.
