People are often ashamed to talk about normal bodily functions, especially if it concerns using the toilet. We even go out of our way to avoid using the word and instead prefer to say restroom, ladies' room, or powder room. But urine isn't nearly as scary as we make it out to be. After all, it is primarily made up of glucose, amino acids, and electrolytes.
Nevertheless, if someone admits to peeing in the shower, they are more than likely to get a few strange looks. But in reality, peeing in the shower is completely harmless and saves a ton of water.
Proponents of this practice estimate that many of us use up to one gallon of water per flush. If you multiply that across the entire population, literally tons of fresh drinking water is wasted every day. As well as adding a few more bucks to our water bill, it's bad for the environment.
While low-flow toilets are becoming increasingly common and affordable, not everyone is in a position to make such an investment. Since most people shower daily, it therefore makes more sense to urinate while we're in the shower anyway. Again, you'll be doing your bit for the environment by using up less toilet paper. Double eco bonus!
While many inhibitions have crept into our day-to-day lives, no one really needs to know whether you pee in the shower. So what's stopping you? It's time to be green and clean!
