MANILA, Philippines – The FEU Tamaraws snapped their two-game losing streak, out-lasting the UE Red Warriors in a classic double-overtime showdown, 98-94. It was FEU’s first victory in the second round of the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament, as they lost back-to-back games to NU and La Salle after sweeping the first round. Terrence Romeo overcame an ankle injury and led the Tams with a college career-high of 32 points. FEU was also playing without former UAAP MVP RR Garcia, who was serving a one-game suspension. In an earlier game, the Ateneo Blue Eagles nearly squandered a 27-point lead but held on to beat the Adamson Falcons, 79-66, for their fourth consecutive victory. Kiefer Ravena, Ryan Buenafe and Juami Tiongson all made huge baskets in the clutch. With their win, the Blue Eagles are now above .500 for the first time all season with a 5-4 record and remain in contention for a spot in the Final Four. Mornings @ ANC, August 26, 2013
