MANILA -- Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago warned businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles that she could end up dead if she continues to refuse to tell everything she knows about the multi-billion pork barrel scam. During the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Thursday, Santiago said Napoles should reveal who among the lawmakers tagged in the scandal is the most guilty. She said she believes Napoles, who is accused of setting up fake non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as conduits of lawmakers' Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF), is not the most guilty in the case. At maraming gustong patayin ka," Santiago said. The senator warned Napoles that lawmakers in the pork barrel scam are already "planning your murder." But if she spills the beans now, Santiago told Napoles they will no longer have a motive to kill her. Santiago also advised Napoles not to underestimate Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, whom she referred to as "Tanda." Enrile is one of the three senators facing plunder charges before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection to the pork barrel scam. "May asim pa rin si Tanda," she said. Napoles, for her part, said she does not know who among the lawmakers is the most guilty. ANC, November 7, 2013
