MANILA -- An emotional Kim Chiu thanked her fans for their support after the actress was heavily criticized for her pointed comments to a reporter during the press conference for her film "Bride For Rent" last week. Chiu admitted on Twitter that she had a difficult time sleeping after the press conference where she and leading man Xian Lim were again asked about their off-screen relationship. Chiu then remarked, "We don't owe you any of our personal lives." She also retweeted her fans' messages defending her. In an interview on "KrisTV" on Wednesday, Chiu became teary eyed as she recounted the incident. Chiu also clarified that when she uttered her much-quoted comment, she said it in a "nice way." Pero same lang yung thought," she recalled. "In a nice way kong sinabi, 'yung kumalat na 'we don't owe you explanation,'" Chiu stressed, adding that she apologized right after making that statement. Looking back at the incident. Chiu said she has learned her lesson. "Huwag tayong mag-English, 'yun ang lesson learned. Tagalog na lang for life or Bisaya," Chiu said. The actress also explained why she and Lim want to keep their personal life private.
