MANILA – A fire hit three houses and a building in Sampaloc district in Manila on Monday morning. Fire erupted at a house along Basilio Street at around 5 a.m. and quickly spread to other structures adjacent to it. The fire reached the fifth alarm and was declared out at 6:40 a.m. A certain Reynaldo Seraño sustained burn injuries. Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Residents suspect that an unattended candle caused the blaze since the house had no power supply. The fire snarled traffic along the nearby España Boulevard. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
