Stage set for EEF with Modi as chief guest

The Vladivostok city in Russia's Far Eastern Region is all set to host the three-day Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) from Wednesday which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Chief Guest. Vladivostok is a major Pacific port city in Russia overlooking Golden Horn Bay, near the borders with China and North Korea. Ahead of the 5th EEF, huge hoardings have been placed at the venue carrying Modi's photos along with the message 'Invest India'. The Indian Prime Minister will arrive here Wednesday morning. During his two-day visit, he will hold a bilateral meeting with Putin to discuss ways to push the age-old and Strategic relationship between the two countries. The EEF, which will provide a platform for discussing issues aimed at expanding international cooperation in Asia-Pacific region and developing the economy of Russia’s Far East, will have over 70 business events. Cultural programmes and sporting events will also be held. The three-day event will also see participation from a number of other countries at the ministerial level, including China, South Korea, North Korea, Singapore and Indonesia.
