NPA amazons scare Gigi Reyes

MANILA – Atty. Gigi Reyes, the former chief of staff and alleged paramour of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, on Thursday asked the Sandiganbayan to reconsider its decision rejecting her request to be detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center. In a 5-page motion for reconsideration Reyes' lawyer Anacleto Diaz said his client felt anxious upon learning that she will be mingling with nine female New People's Army (NPA) rebels at the Camp Bagong Diwa. Reyes' camp asked the anti-graft court to instead order Reyes detention at the PNP Custodial Center, where two other senators charged with plunder over the pork barrel scam – Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon ''Bong'' Revilla'' – are currently detained. Reyes, Enrile's co-respondent in the plunder and graft charges in connection with the pork barrel scam, was rushed to a hospital before dawn on Thursday after suffering an anxiety attack. Director Rodencio Sta. Lucia of Taguig-Pateros District Hospital said Reyes became hysterical and her blood pressure shot up, prompting her relatives to bring her to hospital. Reyes was brought to Camp Bagong Diwa Wednesday night after the Sandiganbayan denied her request to be transferred to the PNP Custodial Center. She arrived at Camp Bagong Diwa at 11:15 p.m. where her fingerprints and mug shots were taken.
