This is the cute moment a rescued echidna finally managed to right itself after falling on her back.

The clip, filmed on September 29 in Adelaide, South Australia, shows the moment Blondie, who was hit by a car and suffers from a broken beak, attempts multiple times to get up off her back before finally managing it.

Blondie was rescued and is being rehabilitated by Southern Koala Rescue.

“She was observed standing on her back feet and fell backwards, which is where the video kicks in. She tried various ways to flip back over and eventually works out what to do,” the filmer told Newsflare.

Her carers did not step in to right Blondie because it is important she learns to do this herself to get her prepared for when she is finally returned to the wild.

Along with the platypus, echidnas are the only egg-laying mammals that exist, according to reports.

Although the echidna, also known as spiny anteater, dislike the hot weather they are thriving in their short-beaked variety in Australia. The long-beaked echidna, however, is endangered.
