Bulldog Drummond Comes Back is a 1937 American film starring John Howard. Top-billed John Barrymore plays his friend Colonel Nielsen. The picture was directed by Louis King and the supporting cast includes series regular Louise Campbell, Reginald Denny, E.E. Clive, and J. Carrol Naish.
Phyllis Clavering (Louise Campbell), the girlfriend of Captain Drummond (John Howard), is kidnapped. Murderer Mikhail Valdin (J. Carroll Naish) and his sister, Erena Soldanis (Helen Freeman), seek revenge for the death of her husband, sent to the gallows a year ago through Drummond's actions. Though Valdin could shoot Drummond, he informs the captain that it would be too quick. Drummond and his friend Colonel Nielsen (John Barrymore) are instead given a series of riddles to solve. The movie is based on the 1928 novel called The Female of the Species by Herman McNeile.
