Superstitious locals worshiped the corpse of a buffalo who was born with two heads.

The animal was born in Buriram, northeastern Thailand last Wednesday (October 30) afternoon but died shortly.

Amazed villagers said that the birth of the conjoined farm creature was a lucky omen and have been prayed to it for luck over the weekend. They hoped it would reveal winning lottery numbers.

Footage from last Thursday (October 31) shows how residents put the corpse on an altar and lighted joss sticks, before making offerings of fruit juice and deserts. Other locals prayed, chanted and danced around the two-head buffalo.

The animal's owner, Suvimol Chalangrum, 24, said that she does not believe in any of the religious rites being performed. She is more concerned that the mother buffalo could have suffered during the birth.

Suvimol said: "I raised two female buffaloes and one of them was pregnant. Her water broke in the evening and then the baby's feet came out.“

"However, after the feet came out the delivery was stopped so I contacted the vet for help. We spent over four hours before we could pull the baby buffalo out and it was stuck because it has two heads.”

"Unfortunately, he had been stuck in the womb for too long during the birth so we could not save him.“

"The villagers heard about this and they came to me and asked to use the body for the religious rite which they believed will bring them luck.”

''I don't care about these things, I just want my buffaloes to be fine so I let them take it.''
