Chicago's new tower may become the second tallest in the city

CHICAGO — American architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill has unveiled updated design plans to build a 1,422-foot tall skyscraper in Chicago.
The top of the tower will curve inwards.
The skyscraper is part of a larger project that includes an overhaul of nearby buildings as well as the iconic Tribune Tower.
The structure will include commercial spaces as well as parking at the bottom, Dezeen reports. The building's upper part will include a hotel, rental apartments and condominiums.
Upon completion, the skyscraper would become Chicago's second tallest building, surpassing Trump International Hotel & Tower, which stands at 1,380 feet.
Developers of the project are still waiting for zoning approval, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The designers of the skyscraper updated their initial plans as residents of the area raised concerns about traffic and security near the Chicago River.
