00:00Birmingham's skyline continues to evolve, with new skyscrapers pushing the limits of
00:05height and design.
00:06Currently, Octagon, a 49-storey residential tower, stands as the tallest at 155 metres,
00:13forming part of the Paradise development.
00:16It's joined by the Mercian at 132 metres, and landmarks such as 103 Colmore Row and
00:22the iconic BT Tower, which remain focal points of the city's landscape.
00:27Construction of one east side is well underway, set to rise to 155 metres, over 51 storeys.
00:34It's on course to rival Octagon by 2026.
00:37The upcoming tower leaf will add another 48-storey residential building while Curzon Wharf, approved
00:44for development, is poised to become the city's tallest at 53 storeys once complete.
00:49These developments mark a significant shift for Birmingham as the city prepares to redefine
00:54its skyline with bold, modern architecture over the coming years.
