Steve Bullock Pulls Plug on
2020 Presidential Campaign.
The Montana Democrat is the
third governor to exit the race.
While there were many obstacles we could not have anticipated when entering this race, it has become clear that in this moment, I won't be able to break through to the top tier of this still-crowded field
of candidates, Steve Bullock, via statement.
The 53-year-old joined a
very crowded field for the
nomination back in May this year.
Since then, he struggled to
gain traction in national polls.
He also qualified for only
one presidential debate,
which was in July.
Bullock served two terms as Montana governor and thus
cannot seek the position again.
He has stated that he will not run
for senator next year against Republican Steve Daines.
A spokeswoman for Bullock says he will focus
on helping Democrats win elections in
Montana and nationwide
