How to Share your Real Time Location with Others Using Google Maps on Android?

Note: Update your Google Maps to the latest version by going to Play Store, if you have not updated it yet.

Step 1: Open Google Maps.

Step 2: Tap on 'Three Horizontal bars' at the top left, and then tap on 'Location Sharing.'

Note: if you see error 'This device is not sending location.' You need to tap on 'fix' link next to it. After that, it will fix it.

Step 3: Allow Permissions if it asks you by tapping on 'Allow' button.

Step 4: Now, you can share your real time location via two options. First one for certain amount of time (you can increase or decrease the duration by tapping on '+' or '-' button), and second one is 'until you turn this off.'

Step 5: i) If contact is connected to google account, select the contact by tapping on it, and then tap on 'Share' button.

ii) If contact is not connected to google account, select it by tapping on it, and then read the message at the pop-up. After that, tap on 'ok' link, and then tap on 'Share' button.

or

you can also use other apps to share real time location for certain duration. if you want to use it. Tap on the App that you want to use, select the contact, and then send it.


If you want to stop 'location sharing' follow the instructions below:-

Step 1: Open google maps, tap on 'Three Horizontal bars' at the top left.

Step 2: Tap on 'Location Sharing.'

Step 3: Tap on 'x' link.
