After having bad luck in the first two stages, the 2019 winners and top seeds Manuel Fumic from Germany and Henrique Avancini from Brazil manged to win the third and last & final fourth stage. Their stage wins had no impact in the general classification as the Cannondale Factory Racing One Team already lost 30minutes at stage one due to Fumic’s mechanical.
The best and most constant team throughout the last four days was the BULLS Heroes Team, Simon Stiebjahn (GER) and Urs Huber (SUI). With a total time of 11:03:13 they won the 2020 Tankwa Trek with a gap of 3min30sec.
The women race was a really close battle between three teams, they were only separated by 37 seconds after the penultimate stage 3. The international team of Fairtree, Jennie Stenerhag from Sweden and Nadine Rieder (GER) were in the lead after the queen stage 3. After winning the final stage 4 the strong South African pair Mariske Strauss and Candice Lill from Faces CST they claimed the overall Tankwa Trek women title 2020.
