Just Hire a Girlfriend for Valentine's Day

It really confuses people when they run into a Cisgendered straight male is single on Valentines Day. And one year when I was trying to convince a little old lady that I was single she told me that if I didn't want to have a girlfriend I could just hire one for the night. She told me that there are people that you could pay to be your "girlfriend" for an evening. That is an option I suppose, but I don't think it's an option that I'll be taking advantage of.
