Both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) have left no stone unturned to win the Karnataka Assembly elections, which will be conducted on May 12. While the BJP is banking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spearheading the election campaign, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is leading from the front and addressing several rallies. BJP CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and other leaders launched the party manifesto for the assembly elections. Yeddyurappa promised to bring back the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation Bill 2012 if BJP wins the elections.
