Based on the 1957 musical of the same name, which was itself inspired by the tragedy: Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
Synopsis - Against the backdrop of Manhattan's Upper West Side, the story is that of the contrasted love between two boys belonging to two different worlds: she, Maria, sister of the band leader of the Puerto Rican Sharks, and he, Tony, a repentant ex-member of the rival gang of Anglo-Saxon New Yorkers Jets.
