00:30A tiger which he was hunting slew the Raja of Rampur, and the stroke of its paw has changed
00:55the destiny of Robert Grant, a young American who bore a strange resemblance to the Raja.
01:01To save the Raja's people from the evil intentions of Prince Dakar, Grant assumed the dying ruler's
01:07identity until the rightful heir could arrive and take command. Dakar's confederate, a hunter
01:14named Harris, accused Grant of having murdered the Raja. Proof of Grant's innocence exists
01:20in the form of a letter written by the Raja which will also convict Dakar of plotting against the
01:26throne. An agent of Dakar, a Swede named Peterson, is trying to recover the letter so that his master
01:33may destroy it, but the letter has come into the possession of Mustafa, an Arab innkeeper who knows
01:40where he can dispose of it to his own advantage. Mustafa knows that Muriel Armitage, who has been
01:46arrested on a murder charge, is interested in helping Grant to recover the letter. He sends
01:51his man, Ilderin, to call on Muriel in prison and offer her the letter in exchange for telling him
01:58the location of a rich diamond deposit. A mysterious man wearing black glasses steals up outside the
02:04cell window with a gun in his hand.
02:07Now, you can tell where the diamonds are hidden.
02:12Well, they're...
02:14He's dead. She's the murderer. No, no, no, I didn't do it.
02:41Take her to the inspector's office.
02:43What happened here?
02:44Right here.
02:49But I tell you, I didn't do it. Somebody from the windmill. Oh, please.
02:56Meanwhile, Grant, disguised as a Hindu, has visited Harris' animal compound in the hope of recovering the
03:04letter. Peterson is there on the same errand, and both are trapped by Harris among the animal cages.
03:11In one cage is Harris' ferocious ape man, Bimi, trained to obey his master.

04:04You saved my life, Chan.
04:12Peterson, you fool.
04:13That isn't Chan.
04:14He's your worst enemy.
04:15What are you talking about?
04:16That's Robert Grant.
04:17And he tricked you into giving him that letter.
04:18What lies you speak.
04:19Asked why this man is no white man.
04:20Open his shirt and see for yourself.
04:21Well, we see.
04:22Dorothy's a good woman.
04:23She's a good woman.
04:24She's a good woman.
04:25She's a good woman.
04:26She's a good woman.
04:27She's a good woman.
04:28She's a good woman.
04:29She's a good woman.
04:30She's a good woman.
04:31She's a good woman.
04:32She's a good woman.
04:34That's enough of that.
04:35I know what you want.
04:36You don't want it.
04:37I don't.
04:38You don't want it.
04:39I don't.
04:40I don't.
04:41I want the truth that you're lying to me.
04:42You're lying to me.
04:43I want the truth that you're lying to me.
04:44You're lying to me.
04:45Well, I'll tell you what he said.
04:56The plane killing is too good for him.
04:59I know a better way to handle it.
05:00Right.
05:01Never mind.
05:02I want to get that letter, and then I'll send him back to prison where I sent him once before.
05:20That letter he had was not real. It was a fake.
05:24Well, did you make a copy of it?
05:26No.
05:27Well, then there is no copy.
05:30He had the original, the one that belonged to me.
05:33Come on, give me a hand.
05:39Your carelessness in allowing the prisoner to smuggle this weapon into prison will cost you dearly.
05:46But I tell you, I did not have the gun.
05:48It was thrown in through the window by the person who fired the shot.
05:51Can you describe that person?
05:53No.
05:55You're still determined to withhold the errand which sent the Arab to see you.
06:01Well, I know.
06:03I have been warned that if I tell, my brother will pay for it with his life.
06:08You believe that threat?
06:11After what has happened yet.
06:14I told Mr. Wainwright, and three hours later he was murdered.
06:18You know who killed Wainwright?
06:20Here is the man who killed Wainwright.
06:24According to our records, Wainwright was killed by a white man.
06:28This man is white under the stain that covers his face.
06:34You may have difficulty proving the murder,
06:37but you will have no difficulty in returning him to prison at Rampore where he was serving a life sentence.
06:42He has a record?
06:43Yes.
06:45This man is Robert Grant, the American who tried to steal the throne of the Raja of Rampore.
06:49That's a lie, Harris.
06:51There's a letter in existence written by the Raja which proves my innocence.
06:55Yes, and where is the letter?
06:57I have it.
07:05How did you get this?
07:07The Arab gave it to me for the information that he wanted.
07:11Why did the Arab think this was of any value to you?
07:16He knew that I would do anything I could to help Mr. Grant.
07:28I think I understand.
07:31Under the circumstances, I'll have to return Grant and this letter to Rampore by the boat which sails tonight.
07:40Why, that's exactly what I've been working for.
07:43Return the prisoner to her cell.
07:47Put Grant under guard.
08:03Many thanks, Harris.
08:05I may call on you again for more information.
08:08Very well, sir.
08:10Anytime.
08:11Anytime.
08:22You were leaving on the boat that sails tonight, Peterson?
08:25What's the use?
08:26Without that letter from Prince Decker, I've got no business in Rampore.
08:31What staterooms do you have?
08:35A D-47.
08:37D-47?
09:11Well, I hate to do this, Grant, but I can't afford to take chances.
09:25Well, it's okay with me.
09:27You don't want to get to Rampore with that letter half as much as I do.
09:30At least I can give you the birth of honor.
09:33Special thanks for something anyhow.
12:12I tell you, he was not on that ship last night.
12:36They changed my mind and didn't sail.
12:38This radiogram says...
12:39I don't care what says no radiogram. It was not on that boat. Just wait. Oh comes. Mr. Harris. He can prove it
12:47Harry's will be here any minute. We'll see
12:51There he is now
12:53There you are. Please tell that police from there. It was last night
12:59I'm afraid I don't know what it's all about. It's like this
13:02They are trying to tell me a killed a man last night on a ship. They didn't sail on
13:07Murder you may as well know the rest. Mr. Harris
13:17I never would have suspected my friend capable of such a crime
13:20That's hardly the point. Mr. Harris
13:23Mr. Peterson asked us to send for you said you could prove an alibi for him
13:28Only you shouldn't have dragged me into this, you know, I know nothing of your move last night
13:34What
13:36You say that to me
13:40You don't expect me to perjure myself. Do you?
13:43I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about where mr. Peterson was last night
13:47He told me he was sailing if he didn't you are lying you devil
13:52Lying you'll get me out of the way
13:55You would see me hang for murder just because you think I would interfere with your plans you
14:06Take him back to a cell
14:36There's the man we're after
15:06It is useless Harris none, but an Oriental can solve an Oriental's magic
15:19You know what I ought to do to you, yes
15:22But I am too valuable to you if I can succeed where you have failed
15:29I'll do the same to you
15:31I am too valuable to you if I can succeed where you have failed I should be worth much to you
15:40Do you think you can bring back to writing on this paper I
15:45Know money three
15:47What's your price the use of your eight man be me to do?
15:51What the Armitage girl is in prison if she were in my quarters, I think she tell where the diamond field go ahead
16:00Get busy
16:03When I have the girl it will be plenty of time for these a
16:10Fine bargain I
16:12Bring you the girl
16:14Then you say you can't bring back the writing
16:16Don't forget my friend that even if I do fail to bring back the writing you do seek the information about the diamond
16:24We are still partners
16:26It's a bargain, but don't you try to double-cross me this time Mustafa
16:56Oh
17:15There's a trail out this way
17:26I
17:56Oh
18:26I
