Shakespeare and Chinese Opera meet in Macbeth

Macbeth, will begins its run at DPAC in Petaling Jaya, on April 22, combines the full Shakespearean text with operatic costumes, makeup, gestures, as well as the musical interludes and percussive accompaniment that go with the Chinese artform. Director Chin San Sooi, ably assisted in the costume and make-up department by Chinese Opera veteran consultant Elizabeth Choy Him Heong, will transform his cast so the audience literally sees two performances: Shakespeare and Chinese Opera.
