Ingredients for Dal Pakhtooni:-
➢ Whole black gram (sabut urad) soaked overnight- 1 cup
➢ Ginger garlic paste- 2 tablespoon
➢ Salt to taste
➢ Red chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
➢ Turmeric powder- 1/2 tablespoon
➢ Butter- 2 tablespoon
➢ Tomato puree - 1 1/2 cups
➢ Garam masala powder- 1 tablespoon
➢ Coriander powder- 1 tablespoon
➢ Fresh cream – 2 tablespoon
Recipe-:
• Soak sabut urad in four cups of water for eight to ten hours or overnight. Grind tomatoes to
make a smooth puree.
• Cook urad in four to five cups of water along with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder &
tomato puree.
• Pressure cook on medium heat until you het 4-5 whistles or till it is completely cooked and
tender. Now, Melt the butter in a thick bottomed pan and add ginger garlic paste & keep stirring
continuously.
• Add tomato puree, salt , red chilli powder, garam masala & coriander powder and stir for few
seconds .
• Add cooked urad to this and cook on low heat for half an hour. Stir occasionally. Add water if
required. Add fresh cream, correct seasoning and simmer for another ten minutes.
• The consistency of this dal is quite thick. Now serve daal and Garnish with some cream & dry
fenugreek leaves.
