The number of self-employed people in South Korea has been slumping for eight months in a row due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
This is according to data released on Thursday by the Korea Small Business Institute and Statistics Korea.
In August, five-point-six million people were self-employed in South Korea, down 350-thousand on-year.
The decline comes as the self-employed have been one of the hardest-hit groups by the strengthened COVID-19 guidelines and the longest monsoon season on record.
