Thousands of Indonesian students and workers protested on October 7, 2020, against a new law that they say will cripple labour rights and harm the environment. Protests occurred in many Indonesian cities, including in Tangerang and Bekasi, satellite communities near the capital Jakarta that are home to large factories.
