When someone is under an extreme amount of stress, they sometimes lash out at others in an obvious way.
But there are other non-direct expressions of stress that can be just as damaging.
Here are seven ways we unknowingly take our stress out on other people.
1. You shut down and self-isolate, as the idea of interacting with others causes even more stress.
2. You vent to other people without respecting their emotional boundaries or returning the favor.
3. You heavily rely on one person, causing them to feel drained and powerless to help.
4. You don’t have the capacity to emotionally be there for others.
5. You have negative beliefs about emotional vulnerability so you pretend to be fine.
6. You dump your issue onto someone else and leave them to find a solution.
7. You offer to help and then act resentful while doing it.
