This large bear had been marauding a neighborhood for about a year, eating from trash cans, bird feeders, and disturbing the urban chicken coops. These house owners installed cameras in their yard after having a face-to-face encounter with the bear once. The bear didn't give up and it was found destroying their chicken coop one night. It bit off the wooden shed, struggling to open the refortified coop to get to the chickens. Just before the bear successfully ripped off the small roof over the nesting boxes, the owners checked the camera and flew into action. They ran to a window just above the bear and shouted and waved their arms, growling like a predator to scare them off. The plan worked and the bear scarpered hurriedly.
