भारतीय टीम के पूर्व क्रिकेटर Irfan Pathan को लेकर अक्सर कहा जाता है की उन्होने काफी पहले संन्यास ले लिया उनमें अभी काफी क्रिकेट बची हुई थी, अपने क्रिकेट करियर के शुरुआत से अपनी स्विंग गेंदबाजी से उन्होने सभी को हैरान किया था और बहुत जल्द ही वो टीम इंडिया की गेंदबाजी के प्रमुख हथियार भी बन गए थे, धीरे-धीरे उन्होने बल्ले से भी योगदान देना शुरु कर दिया और फिर उनकी गिनती ऑलराउंडरों में होने लगी, इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट से संन्यास लेने के बाद Irfan Pathan अब कमेंटेटर की भूमिका में आ गए हैं और अक्सर क्रिकेट से जुड़े मुद्दों पर अपनी राय देते रहते हैं। हाल में उन्होंने तेज गेंदबाजी को लेकर बड़ी बात रखी उन्होने स्विंग और स्पीड में फर्क करने करने के लिए एक कमाल का उदाहरण दिया जिसको लेकर अब चर्चा शुरु हो गई है।


Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan gave the examples of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shoaib Akhtar to highlight the difference between swing and pace, suggesting that while both have their advantages, it is always more difficult for batsmen to handle the moving ball.Pathan said it would be impossible for Bhuvneshwar, who can swing the ball both ways, to suddenly become an out and out fast bowler like Shoaib Akhtar, who in his playing days was regarded as one of the fastest bowlers of the world.
