Farmer unions have written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This comes even as the central government is set to approve on November 24 the draft of Bills needed to cancel the three farm laws. The letter lists the demands by farmers. The letter specifically mentions a legal mandate for MSP. Farmers have said that they would continue to protest until all issues were looked into. “Minimum Support Price based on the comprehensive cost of production (C2+50%) should be made a legal entitlement of all farmers for all agricultural produce, so that every farmer of the country can be guaranteed at least the MSP announced by the government for their entire crop,” the letter states.
