The farmers will resume their protest tomorrow after they turned down the government's 5-year proposal to buy three types of pulses, maize, and cotton at the old MSP. The farmers also demand pension for farmers and farm labourers, farm debt waiver and no hike in electricity tariff.

00:00 I am Sharmita Kaur. We are here at Shambhu border where there is a 5 or 6 km long stretch
00:07 of tractors where farmers have been camping for the past one week. They are here to raise
00:13 their demands for MSP, farm debt waiver, pension and in the meetings held so far with the government
00:20 their demands have remained unfulfilled. But the farmers are here playing music every day,
00:26 serving langar to the people who are coming here to protest. From what we have come to
00:32 know from the ground, in the last meeting held with the government, the government has
00:38 promised them some guarantee for the next 5 years but farmers are not happy with that.
00:44 As far as we have come to know, they do plan to head to Delhi tomorrow, that is on February
00:50 21 and they are planning to reach the barricades again.
