The UK will send 8,000 British Army troops to take part in NATO exercises across eastern Europe, in the biggest European deployment since the Cold War.

International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan said Putin's war in Ukraine had made NATO members in the region "very anxious", adding: "This exercise will be a chance for all our military to work together to make sure that they are at readiness."
