F. F. Bosworth and the Assemblies of God

Fred Francis Bosworth was a "Faith Healer" and Pentecostal evangelist who toured with William Branham from the early years of Branham’s ministry until his death in 1958. Bosworth was a ranking member of John Alexander Dowie's "Faith Healing" commune in Zion, IL. He served as the leader of the band, as well as an assistant to Dowie during Dowie's tours to increase his reach of control. He was well-respected in Pentecostal circles, claiming to have been one of those in attendance at the Azusa Street Revival.

After Dowie died, Bosworth went on to be one of the founding members of the Assemblies of God Pentecostal sect and mentored William Branham and other revivalists in the Post WWII Healing Revival. As a result, many of the “new wave” of “faith healers” — thousands of them — shared many similarities to John Alexander Dowie. Dowie was the prototype.

Bosworth’s influence still lives on today through leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation, and NAR leaders give reverence to ministries that Bosworth helped to create.
