Our Lady of Montserrat Barcelona

Our Lady of Montserrat enshrined high up in the monastery in a steep, striking and unique mountain near Barcelona in Catalonia. The wooden carved statue of the Virgin Mary and the Christ child is believed to date back to the 1100s and numerous miracles have been attributed to it throughout the millennium. It has been venerated by generations of Catholics in the region and pilgrims from across Europe and beyond for centuries right up to the present day.(Video: Brendan McDaid)
